These are photographs of and from the infamous Alcatraz Penitentiary which I took on our trip on 01 September 2018 according to the data stored on the images. I did take many more photographs which have been lost and I am trying to recover, once found (if found) will be edited and add them in the coming months. Sadly a hard drive failure has cast a doubt over the recovery of many.

The tour around the penitentiary itself was amazing with so much information given, though I was very much distracted by the photography so how much of that information I retained I will leave for you to imagine.

It all started with the boat trip to the island, I really enjoyed this part of the visit as I managed to capture some really good images of the structure on our way to it. I don’t recall how long it took to get across to the island but it wasn’t too long. I do recall the water being fast flowing and rough.

You are offered a headset with a receiver / recorder to listened to the tail of Alcatraz, although I had one on I don’t really remember using it too much, information was coming from third parties discussing it though like I said before what I did listen to was very informative.

We were on the island for a couple of hours and then we took the ferry back to the shore, amazing trip, so glad I got to go.
