I absolutely love Florida, any part of the sunshine state flicks my switch. The opportunity to photograph the pier came just after Hurricane Milton had done its worst and this sunset was just stunning.

I initially felt awful being out on a beach with a camera after so much devastation, and there was a lot of that. But locals were out swimming, drinking and having BBQ’s on the beach and although that discomfort was with me it did make me feel a little bit more relaxed.

Floridians are such wonderful people too, some asking if I would like some water (it was very hot) and some asking if they could be in my photographs, I said yes to be polite but none will never be shown on this website.

I do hope they are now well and truly recovered from this horrific event and I wish them all the very best and look forward to being in their company again soon.
