Farne Island

The Farne Islands are a National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest. This place is home, during the summer months, to one of the most significant breeding seabird colonies in the UK.

Puffins in Northumberland are primarily found on the Farne Islands, a group of islands off the coast of Seahouses. The best time to see them is during the breeding season, from late March to July, when they come ashore to nest. The Farne Islands host a large Puffin colony, with around 40,000 pairs present during the breeding season, according to the National Trust.
